Q: Are there any legal restrictions on how I can make a donation?
A: Yes. New York State law prohibits the following:
Making a contribution in someone else’s name.
Reimbursing someone for a contribution made in your name.
Accepting reimbursement for a contribution you made.
Claiming to have made a contribution when it was actually a loan.
All contributions must be made using your own funds and in your own name. Violating these rules may result in legal penalties.
Q: Can I make a recurring donation?
A: Yes. Recurring donations are a great way to sustain our work. Simply select the recurring “monthly” option above when you donate, and you can cancel at any time.
Q: Will my donation be publicly disclosed?
A: Yes. Your name, amount, and address may be publicly disclosed in campaign finance reports.
Q: Is my donation tax-deductible?
A: No. Donations to Brooklyn BridgeBuilders are not tax-deductible, as we are a political organization registered as an independent expenditure committee.
